By virtue of Legal Notice 121 of 2021, the Malta Permanent Residency Programme (MPRP) entitles affluent third-country international investors to reside, settle, or stay indefinitely in Malta.
The programme provides permanent residency in Malta, offering a stable and secure base within the European Union.
Residents also enjoy visa-free travel within the Schengen Area for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

Application Requirements
Core requirements for the Malta Permanent Residence Programme
- Pay a non-refundable €60,000 administration fee to the government.
- Make a minimum €2,000 donation to a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
- Contribute €37,000 to the government.
- Purchase the required health insurance.
- Pay an additional €7,500 government administration fee for each adult dependent (excluding spouses).
- Applicants may request a 12-month temporary residence permit while their Permanent Residence Permit (MPRP) application is being processed.
- The temporary residence permit is typically issued within two months.
Choose Your Investment Option
01 Rental Option
Requires leasing property in Malta or Gozo with an annual rental value of at least €14,000.
02 Property Purchase Option
Requires purchasing property in Malta or Gozo valued at a minimum of €375,000. All properties must be held for a minimum of five years, after which there shall be no monetary restrictions.
